The Pharisees and Sadducees at John’s Baptism

But when he saw many of the Prushim [Pharisees] and Zadokim [Sadducees] come to his mikveh [baptism], he said unto them, “Who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come, you generation of vipers? Bring forth fruits indicative of repentance, and think not to say within yourselves, 'Avraham is our father!' I say to you, that Yahovah is able of these stones to raise up children unto Avraham. The axe is now laid to the root of the trees. Every tree that does not bring forth good fruit will be hewn down and cast into the fire. I indeed mikveh you in water {in this day of} repentance. but he that comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to unloose. He will mikveh you with the fire of the Ruach Kodesh [Holy Spirit]. His winnowing fan is in His hand. Sermon on the Mount

Seeing the multitudes, Yeshua went up into a mountain. When he was set, his disciples came unto him, and he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, “Blessed are the humble, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those that mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the teachable, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for their hunger shall be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful. for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see Yahovah. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of Yahovah. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake, Rejoice, and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt have lost his flavor, how shall the earth be salted? The salt is then good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Men do not light a lamp, and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand; and it gives light to all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Do not think that I have come to destroy the Torah, or the prophets. I did not come to destroy, but to fulfill. Truth I say to you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Torah, till all be fulfilled. Whoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments in the Torah, and shall teach men to do so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven! But, whoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
