Ephesians 5:25-33 (CKJV)

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Messiah also loved the assembly, and gave Himself for it;

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

²⁵ Husbands, love your wives, even as Messiah also loved the assembly, and gave Himself for it;
²⁶ That He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word,
²⁷ That He might present it to Himself a glorious assembly, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy, set apart, and without blemish.
²⁸ So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself.
²⁹ For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as יְהֹוָה the assembly:
³⁰ For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones.
³¹ For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
³² This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Messiah and the assembly.
³³ Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
